writers‘ workshop
CIE Writer's Workshop is sponsored by Final Draft, and its main objective is to help young writers improve their scripts through creative discussions with their peers. Usually, we host an in-person monthly workshop focusing on one writer's script. Members of the Writers’ Workshop meet monthly or on a need-to-meet basis to work on their original pitches, screenplays and teleplays. The Writers’ Workshop also organizes Special Sessions such as classic script analysis and exclusive Pitch Sessions that bring multiple writers from the group to visit established producers and/or production companies to pitch projects.
Previously, we hosted the script analysis session with Professor Peter Markham, a creative consultant, teacher, author, and former directing head at the American Film Institute Conservatory. We also hosted Pitch sessions with Janet Yang, a Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning producer and governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Lifeng Wang, founder and CEO of Times Films, Inc.
